Advanced ID Corporation is a complete solutions provider in the radio frequency identification (RFID) market. RFID provides a means to positively identify and track animals or objects. Advanced ID markets its embedded low frequency (LF) RFID microchips, scanners, and recovery database to the pet, aquaculture, laboratory, research and agriculture industries. Advanced ID also markets its ultra high frequency (UHF) DataTRAC™ tags, readers, and trace back management solutions to minimize or eliminate the impact of biosecurity and food safety issues related to the agriculture industry.

In 2004, and after nearly three years of development of our DataTRAC™ UHF technology, we began expanding our current market position as the top supplier of LF embedded RFID microchips in Canada to include UHF visual RFID ear tags for the global agriculture industry. The agriculture industry is demanding a cost effective technology that offers significantly enhanced efficiencies in data management, data transfer speed, automation and trace back. With some countries exporting more than 75 percent of their livestock products, there is a dire concern over the economic ramifications of a disease outbreak and the inability to ensure food safety. Consequently, a growing number of governments which includes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States, the European Union and others have implemented, or have indicated their intent to implement, mandatory livestock identification. Mandatory identification ensures that a food safety tracking system is in place to trace back diseased animals to their origin for immediate containment or eradication.

Our ultra high frequency RFID technology will offer increased data transfer speed, comparable pricing to bar code tags, unparalleled reliability in operating environments with high levels of electromagnetic interference generally inherent in processing plants, anti-collision features to allow multiple tag reads for efficient processing/transportation of livestock, and significantly longer read ranges over current bar code, LF and high frequency RFID technology. Our direct contact with various national livestock associations, processing plants, feedlots, government officials and primary producers to gain an understanding of the demand for an efficient and cost effective RFID livestock identification system has been overwhelming. In our discussions with these various organizations, the message is clear…when can we get it?

The global agriculture industry has been actively seeking a solution to improve the speed and accuracy of tracing livestock to minimize or eliminate the spread of disease, and the resulting impact of biosecurity and food safety issues. It is our goal to be the global radio frequency identification technology solution of choice.
